Counseling Intern

Life is unexpected and we do not have to go about it alone. I believe that everyone has the power within themselves to overcome the struggles they are facing, to develop skills to help with coping, and to change the mindset to a healthier one when given the proper tools and support. As a counselor, I take a relational approach and embody the core values of respect, inclusiveness, compassion, honesty, cooperation and humility. The role I take as a counselor is to create an open and inviting atmosphere to support you. As your counselor, I promise to be positive, collaborative, empathetic and nonjudgmental; to meet you where you are at and to listen. I am
here for you to feel safe and join you on your journey and support you in your growth. My passion is to help individuals, couples and families to foster healthy relationships through communication and trust. In my practice, I take a Person-centered, Gestalt, Holistic approach and use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to get through the struggles in life. It can take some time to get there because we are all different, which is what makes us so special and unique. While interning at Denver Counseling Solutions, I am completing a Master of Science in Christian Counseling and pursuing further certification in nature and wilderness therapy. I look forward to
meeting you and working with you on this journey!
