Austin Magette, M.A., MFTC
he/him
Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate
You will find relationships in just about every part of life; and that is why it is so important to work on them! Whether it is a relationship with family, friends, romantic partners, or even yourself; let’s stop the negative cycles and create lasting change that will lead to experiences of growth and happiness. I don’t believe that I am the expert here; you are. You know your experience better than anyone and I know that together, we will find how to help you grow in the ways that you yearn for.
As a queer therapist, I enjoy working with individuals, families, and all forms of romantic partnerships. My passion is to work with clients to lessen the impact of minority stress; especially those that identify under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, non-monogamous folks, and cultural minorities. I personally think that therapy works best when it has a solid foundation of authenticity, honesty, and vulnerability. I will happily meet you where you are, as we discover the path that you want to take, and walk along it side by side.
I am an MFTC, with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and a B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. My practice incorporates elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, dancing, looking at art, hiking, and exercising, and I love spending time with friends, family, and my pets!
