Can I use my insurance with Denver Counseling Solutions?
Denver Counseling Solutions is an out-of-network provider. We are not in-network with any insurance companies and do not bill them directly. Clients pay the full fee up front to DCS. However, you as the client may be able to submit a claim on your own for reimbursement, which many of our clients choose to do. We cannot speak to or guarantee what your specific insurance policy will or will not cover.
How do I use my insurance with Denver Counseling Solutions?
After we process your payment, we will provide you a receipt for the counseling services. You may submit this receipt along with your insurance company’s claim form to your insurance provider for a reimbursement of a portion of your counseling session fee according to your insurance plan and policy. The reimbursement from your provider will depend on your policy. Many providers provide access to the claim form on their website or by calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card.
What is the cost benefit to using Denver Counseling Solutions instead of an in-network provider?
You may be saving significant money over time by using Denver Counseling Solutions rather than an in-network provider. Because Denver Counseling Solutions does not deal with the endless paper-work required by insurance companies for in-network providers, we are able to offer fees substantially lower than those organizations that contract as in-network providers.
What other benefits can Denver Counseling Solutions provide over in-network providers?
As an out-of-network provider, Denver Counseling Solutions is able to tailor a counseling plan for your particular life situation. In-network providers, as part of their contract with the insurance companies, often will dictate what diagnoses, types of counseling, and treatment plans they will cover. This can result in a generic counseling plan that is less than adequate for your particular life situation and often leads to therapy records with incorrect diagnoses and treatments so that insurance companies will make payment.
Denver Counseling Solutions maintains your confidentiality and privacy in ways that in-network providers cannot. In-network therapists are required to share your private, confidential case notes with the insurance companies. As a result, the insurance company can dictate your treatment options to an in-network therapist, often terminating counseling services far too early. This relationship with the insurance companies also allows for your confidential information to be used in court, by the FBI, and if dealing with a minor, can impact employment and certain educational programs.
