Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate
I believe meaningful change involves understanding the experiences and relationships that have shaped you while recognizing the strengths and possibilities that exist today. My approach is grounded in relational therapy, drawing from Structural Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Attachment Theory. I incorporate culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and transgenerational perspectives to understand how family dynamics, cultural identities, lived experiences, and relationship patterns shape our sense of self and connections with others.
I’m particularly interested in how beliefs, coping strategies, and relationship patterns develop within families and carry across generations. With children and teens, I incorporate developmentally appropriate, play-based and narrative interventions to support emotional expression, regulation, and connection.
I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Brigham Young University–Idaho. I am also a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, bringing over a decade of experience in behavioral health, with specialized expertise in behavior change, motivational interviewing, and helping individuals develop the confidence and skills to achieve their personal goals.
My professional background also includes executive leadership in statewide and national youth mental health programs, where I’ve helped expand access to high-quality behavioral healthcare for children and families. This experience has deepened my understanding of the challenges families face and the importance of high quality, personalized, and family-centered care.
Outside of the therapy room, being a mom is one of the most meaningful parts of my life. I understand firsthand the joys and challenges of raising children, navigating different stages of life and family transitions, and balancing the many roles and responsibilities we carry. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me at the gym, spending time outdoors, or cheering on my children at their activities. I value being present, finding joy in the little things, and making space for the everyday moments that help us feel connected to ourselves and the people we love.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your relationships, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward greater understanding, healing, and connection.
